SimpliFlight app
- Do I need an account?
- No. SimpliFlight works fully offline — logging, maintenance, costs, and reports all work without signing in. An account is only needed for the optional cloud backup & sync (Pro), or to join a school or club on SimpliFlight Fleet.
- How does Hobbs capture work?
- Tap the Hobbs button (or the Lock Screen widget) and photograph the meter — the reading is recognized on your device and you confirm it before anything is saved. Or tap the mic and say the number. With no open flight, it starts one (departure airport filled from GPS); with an open flight, it can close the leg and compute flight time.
- What's free and what's Pro?
- Free forever: unlimited manual flight logging, aircraft, passengers, maintenance and cost entry, credentials, and live totals. Pro adds Hobbs photo/voice capture, receipt scanning (OCR), PDF/CSV report generation, and cloud sync. Your recorded data is never locked behind the paywall.
- Can I import my existing logbook?
- Yes — Logbook → ⋯ → Import ForeFlight CSV brings in your flights, hours buckets, and landings.
- How do I generate a report?
- Reports tab → pick a period → Generate Report. You get a PDF logbook + operating-cost report with every IRS-required field and a CSV for your accountant. Lock & Finalize makes the included flights read-only so your records stay audit-consistent.
- How do I delete my data?
- On-device data: delete the app. Cloud account and synced data: Settings → Delete account (permanent, immediate) — or email us and we'll do it for you.
SimpliFlight Fleet
- What is SimpliFlight Fleet?
- The web platform for flight schools, flying clubs, charter and private-flight operators, and aircraft owners — fleet & maintenance, FAA AD monitoring, scheduling, dispatch, Hobbs billing, true aircraft costs, a live ADS-B map, and charter matching. Open it at fleet.simpliflight.app.
- How do my pilots and students use it?
- Invite them by email. Your aircraft appear in their free SimpliFlight iOS app, where they self-book, see their schedule and invoices, and import completed flights into their personal logbook in one tap. There are no per-seat fees.
- What does it cost?
- Free for solo aircraft owners, and free for every pilot, student, and CFI. Operators and schools pay per managed aircraft — not per person.
- Does it sync with my accounting?
- Yes. Hobbs-based invoices sync with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- How does the one-tap logbook handoff work?
- When a flight you flew through a school or club is completed in Fleet, it appears in your SimpliFlight app ready to import — aircraft, times, and route prefilled — so it lands in your personal logbook without re-entry. See the privacy policy for exactly what's shared.
